Frequently Asked Questions
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built directly into your smartphone. It works exactly like a physical SIM card, allowing you to connect to mobile networks, but you don't need to insert a physical chip. You can simply download a data plan and activate it instantly.
We recommend installing your eSIM 1-2 days before your trip while you have a stable Wi-Fi connection (like at home). The data plan will usually only activate and start counting your days once you arrive at your destination and connect to the local network.
Yes! Most modern smartphones support Dual SIM functionality. You can keep your primary physical SIM active to receive SMS (like bank OTPs) and calls, while setting your new eSIM specifically for cellular data to avoid expensive roaming charges.
Most of the packages we compare are Data-Only eSIMs, which means they do not include a local phone number for standard voice calls or SMS. However, you can still use WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessage, Skype, or Telegram over the data connection.
